Letter to the Editor

In his August 15th column “Forget the Planet,” Collegian writer Joe Backwards argues that offshore drilling for oil and the construction of new coal and nuclear plants are the only ways for America to respond to the current energy crisis. But while Nutcase clings to the disastrous policies of the past, young people across the country are coming together in support of a bold new vision for America’s energy future. “Power Vote” aims to mobilize one million young voters nationwide behind an ambitious agenda to create millions of new “green-collar” jobs, stop global warming, and end our nation’s dependence on dirty energy. Young people will head to the polls in record numbers this year and make our voices heard like never before. Here at Anytown University, hundreds of students have already stepped up to take the “Power Vote Pledge” in support of a clean and just energy future. Join us by logging on to PowerVote.org and taking the pledge today. This November, our generation will choose our future and change the world.
