Power Vote

In a little more than 3 months, Washington DC, The United States of America, and the whole world will be in the gripes of a 4 fold Power Shift.



1. About a month into his service as President of the United States of America, Barack Obama and his team, will be switching into high gear in their roles as stalwarts of the nation's aspirations.



2. Massive investments will be in made in shifting the source of America's power from dirty sources (coal, oil, nuclear) to clean renewables (solar, wind, geothermal). Americans disenfranchised and recently unemployed will be be put to work throughout the country in order to make this happen.



3. Traditional lobbies like auto and tobacco that have run Washington's backroom politics from their billion dollar corporate offices and wasteful retreats will have to take a number to the Collegiate grassroots organizers who have shown politics that we can organize and sway elections towards whoever fulfills their promises to honor the interests we deem important and relevant to preserving America's future.



4. Imagine 10,000 young climate and energy activists descending on Washington D.C. to call for a clean and just energy future.



Power Shift 2009 is our opportunity to bring a clear message to Washington, "We want clean and just energy now!". Late February, 2009 over 10,000 young people will converge on DC for three days of training, strategy and action. We will unite as a movement and hold our elected officials accountable.
