"Yes We Can"

What a powerful statement, but let's take it apart and see why its so uplifting.

Yes: The quintessential English affirmation. There is absolutely no part of the word that can be read negatively. The letter ‘Y’ from which it begins even oddly resembles an upward growing expanding sentiment.

Similarly one can define ‘can.’ Even in it’s most negated sense it often comes out positive. “There is nothing we can’t do,” is a lesson we instill as often as possible. From the youngest child, to the most powerful nation on the planet, the occasional reminder never hurts.

Last but perhaps the most essential - ‘We.’ While I know America was founded on individualism and uniqueness, it was our ability to be INclusive that has truly transformed the world and ushered in a new era in humanity. The strength that can be found in ‘out of many we are one’ boggles the mind.

The Power Vote campaign embodies each of these words. It became what it was by personifying the youth climate movement and giving it a face. That being said, it would have never become what it is without the amazing support of all the individual organizations that share our passion for the health of the world.

In this spirit we will begin a daily series today introducing other amazing movements and voices from around the world to the Power Vote Nation. We draw great strength from our unity within Power Vote, but we are part of something so much more.
